Two days in a row. I'm on a roll.
My son got in his very first fight. With the coffee table. And I think the coffee table won.
Of course, the fight occurred on a Sunday. It always seems to happen that way, huh? We rushed him straight to the emergency after hours pediatrician's office. I admit, I was freaking out a little. P acted very quiet and reserved on the ride to the doctor. I swore he had a concussion. Turns out, he was just upset that he lost the fight. He's a typical guy. His pride was hurt more than his noggin'.
He doesn't look too upset about the incident in these pictures, does he? His new jumper from Granny and Grandpa makes everything all better.
You should see his eye today. It really looks like he comes from an abusive home. It's black and yellow and still kinda purple in spots. It's real pretty. I'm sure this won't be the last black eye for P. At least this one was from the coffee table and not some punk kid at school.

happy 2nd birthday, baby boy!
If I only post once in March, at least it's a post to wish my sweet baby boy a happy birthday. He has brought us so much happiness in just two short years. It is hard to imagine how dull and bland our life was before his arrival. I thank God everyday that He blessed us with a perfect son. We love you so much, Phoenix!
I say this at every age, but two has to be my most favorite age yet. P cracks us up everyday. The things he says are hilarious and we laugh all.the.time. His latest phrase is "How you doin'?". I swear he says it just like Joey from Friends. He still likes to jump, only now, he's mastered jumping off of things, like the couch, coffee table, or the stairs. It's kind of crazy, actually. He is extremely well-mannered. He says please and thank you often. This week alone, I think he thanks me for his birthday party last weekend at least every 2 minutes.
P: "Mama? Mama. Thank you."
Me: "For what baby?"
P: "Thank you for my birthday party, mama."
Me: "You're welcome, buddy."
P: "More birthday parties, mama?"
Me: "Next year, baby. Next year."
He melts my heart. We love him so much. Happy birthday, buddy.
