These summer days sure have been sweltering hot. Too hot for Granny and P's traditional Monday morning wagon ride to the park. Granny came up with an alternative great way to keep P entertained, cool, and outside. A splash pool! This has to be one of the greatest blow up toys on the planet. You inflate the inflatable parts. Attach the water hose to fill. And, voila. You have a tropical oasis designed especially for a toddler. Complete with a whale slide, stacking rings, and water spraying action. (That came straight from the box.) This thing is great. And it's portable. Inflated, it is 7 feet long. Deflated, it will fit in a shoe box. We will definitely be taking this one to the lake in the near future.

Oh, and by the way, our upstairs air condition broke last night. On one of the hottest days of the summer. And where are all five bedrooms in this house? Upstairs. Nice. It is difficult to get comfortable when the inside temperature in our bedrooms was somewhere around 80 degrees. Needless to say, we were a sweaty and sleepy bunch this morning. But the nice A/C man came and took care of things this morning. Turns out we only needed to replace an $80 part. So tonight, I am cranking the A/C down super low and hoping for a cool and restful night's sleep for us all.
