memorial day weekend.

I'm going to give this posting thing another go. I kept thinking I would catch up and now here I am almost six months later and I still haven't even posted about Christmas, or Disney, or Valentine's Day, or P's birthday, or.....{sigh}..... So, here goes yet another attempt at catching up. I think that I'm slacking on my blog because our days are so crazy and fun that by the time I put the kids to bed, I am dog-tired and beat. Yes, that is definitely the case. I love our crazy life as a family of four, but I sure get worn slap out! But I definitely don't want to forget all of these wonderful memories that we are making, so I am going to do by dangdest (is that a word?) to jump back on the bloggin' wagon :) So let me start with Memorial Day weekend, which was only a week ago, and then, hopefully, I'll backtrack a little and add some posts from January until now. We headed to the lake house for an extended weekend. Taylor's new job allows him a three-day weekend every other week, which is so nice. We are hoping to really get to spend a lot of time at Heron Hill this summer. We bought an el cheapo blow-up pool at Walmart for the kids once the news broke that a man contracted the flesh-eating disease from our lake. Why our lake? Now, I'm all paranoid and stuff. The kids didn't seem to mind that we didn't swim in the lake. Their little redneck pool treated them just fine.

And a couple of pics of the kids just being kids. EK is my little daredevil. These pics were taken after I insisted she get off of the steps. Without success and after deciding she was just.too.cute., I snapped a couple of pics. And, then, made her get off of the steps.
And this little man LOVES to be outside. He can entertain himself for hours. That only happens outside, though. Inside, not so much. He wants someone holding his hand while he plays. Not kidding.
Sweet girl watching daddy pressure wash the dock. She adores him. And I think the feeling is mutual.
We had so much fun at the lake, even if the flesh-eating bacteria was trying to poo on our party. We headed back on Sunday afternoon so that Taylor could go back to work on Monday. I spent Memorial Day with the kiddos, hanging out in the backyard in another blow-up pool (they cannot get enough). Love these pics of my water babies.
And I saved the best for last. Isn't he so handsome? Looks just like his daddy. I rarely get pics like these of my camera shy little man.
I did it!!! One post down. Eight bazillion to go.
